About the Event
In the 1950s Nello Baricci first recognized that the wines of Montosoli, a cru on the north side of Montalcino, were of consistently superior quality and eventually bought a small vineyard there. Today, in part due to Nello’s work, Montosoli is firmly established as one of Montalcino’s greatest vineyards. Baricci, has all of their 5 hectares of sangiovese vineyard in this outstanding cru. Federico and Francesco Buffi, Nello’s grandsons, now run the estate
The wines are beautifully delineated, and an authentic expression of this terroir, marked by an earthy, floral perfume, fine red and black fruit, and ripe, chewy tannins.
