It is with great pleasure that we introduce Checkmate Artisinal Winery to the VC Membership. Over the years, Canada has been pushing boundaries in the winemaking world and producing very interesting and beautiful wines. Being an unexplored region, for most, we tend to look beyond our own backyard. 

CheckMate Winery was born out of a bold vision by harnessing the effects of climate change it would be possible to produce small lots of exceptional Burgundian-style Chardonnay, and Merlot, in a very unexpected place - BC's Okanagan Valley. 

The result - some of the most highly scored wines in Canada - including consecutive, perfect 100-point scores, the first in the country. 

We are harnessing this opportunity to introduce this "up and comer" with a VC exclusive event, offering you the chance to experience their 3 Merlots and a vertical of 3 Chardonnays. 

As an added bonus (since we know many have already binge-watched "The Queen's Gambit"), we have arranged for a virtual game of Chess with Chess Author & Pro Adam Siegel. He will lead you through a fun and engaging lesson all while enjoying award-winning wines alongside winemaker Leandro Nosal!
