About the Darioush

Uniquely shaped by a harmonious blending of traditions, their vision is rooted in taarof, the Persian art of gracious hospitality, and culminates in a worldly escape that transcends the comforts of home.

Hailing from the foothills of the Zagros Mountains, founder Darioush Khaledi grew up immersed in the ancestral winemaking culture of Shiraz, the fabled city of gardens and poetry. The Darioush legacy stems from this foundational intersection of viticulture, hospitality, cuisine, and art.

Inspired by his heritage and fueled by his entrepreneurial spirit, Darioush set out to California, where he and his wife Shahpar realized their dream of opening a boutique winery. In the years since, Darioush’s continued investment has empowered the craftsmanship of intriguing wines that delight guests known and new—a commitment that still guides the winery today.

About Allen Papp - Vice President National Sales - Darioush

Since joining the team as one of the winery’s first employees in 2003, Papp has played a crucial role in the winery’s growth, presence, and reputation nationally, and strives for continued success in his new role, encompassing the global wine market, according to a press release.

In his 20 years with the winery, Papp has grown within the organization from national sales manager, to director, national sales, and most recently, vice president, national sales.

Proprietor Darioush Khaledi expressed his confidence in Papp's ability to evolve the winery's global presence: “Allen was one of our first employees, having tasted our earliest vintages and greeted the first guests to visit our winery estate.
