Drop in Tasting: Bellavista Franciacorta & Cantina Petra

A tasting of Franciacorta and Tuscany with Alessandro Gastaldello from the Terra Moretti Wine group. In Franciacorta, the Bellavista winery (founded in 1977 by the Moretti Familly) creates world renowned sparkling wine while following traditional viticultural principles. In Maremma, the Petra winery produces outstanding Supertuscan blends and single varietal wines from international and local grape varieties. The best of both Tuscany and Brescia on display.

About Bellavista Franciacorta

Bellavista was founded in Franciacorta in 1977 by businessman Vittorio Moretti who decided to transform a small family-run winery vineyards into a full-fledged winery. Looking to the future, Vittorio Moretti devoted special attention to the acquisition of new vineyards, which now comprise a total of 203 hectares in the ‘Franciacorta’ wine production area. In 1981, oenologist Mattia Vezzola joined the company. His key contribution was recognized by the guide to Italian wines, published by Gambaro Russo-Slow food, honoring him ‘oenologist of the year.’ From the vineyards to the wine, every process is performed naturally. Every decision is made in consideration of the rhythms dictated by nature and by the history of the Franciacorta area.

The Petra project is based on organic agricultural practices that respect the nature of a delicate environment through the cultivation and transformation of the grapes without force to get an authentic, elegant wine, faithful to the scents and essences of this territory and the Mediterranean scrub.
