Roccolo Callisto – Valpolicella, Italy

Set in the foothills of Italy’s Valpolicella region, just outside Verona, Roccolo Callisto is a 23-hectare biodiverse estate where vineyards share space with cherry trees, olive groves, forest and even beehives. Only half of the land is planted to vines, reflecting winemaker Elia Braguzzi’s strong commitment to conservation and responsible farming.

In the cellar, Elia favours purity over power, ageing his wines primarily in stainless steel, traditional Roman clay amphorae and neutral Slavonian oak to preserve freshness and varietal character. The result is a vibrant, modern expression of Valpolicella, Ripasso and Amarone — wines that are elegant, energetic and not to be missed.
