Josep Anguera Winemaker Dinner

Hosted by Jason Axmith of Cosecha Imports, join us for this rare opportunity to sit down with the winemaker for an evening to learn firsthand about these highly sought-after wines. 

Backstory:

The Anguera family have been farming in Montsant for seven generations since 1820. It’s not unusual for winemakers to take a different direction from their parents, Joan and Josep have totally rethought their project and realigned their vision over the last 10 years. They started in the vineyards: working biodynamically and achieving Demeter certification in 2011; they top-grafted traditional varietals Grenache and Carignan. Moving to low intervention in the winery, using whole cluster ferments, old oak, and dramatically reducing sulphur use. The results are mind-blowing – balanced and elegant biodynamic wines reminiscent of the Rhone and Rayas.
