BACKGROUND:
New World Pinot Noir Tasting
Certified Sommelier Alex Abbott Boyd of Insider Wine will host a wine tasting featuring wines from an icon of Australian wine, Bindi Wines, alongside several top Willamette Valley producers with wines sourced from different AVAs and vintages. The focus will be on Pinot Noir and discovering how the terroir differences between new world subregions express themselves through the grape. AVAs featured will include Macedon Ranges in Victoria, Australia, and Ribbon Ridge, Chehalem Mountains, and Yamhill-Carlton in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and vintages tasted will go as far back as 2015, allowing guests the chance to try more mature expressions alongside newer releases.
About Alex and Insider Wine
Insider Wine's founder Alex Abbott Boyd is a lifelong entrepreneur. He moved to Toronto from New York City in 2022, and in the United States, he founded, nationally scaled, and sold a brand of organic cocktail mixers, Cocktail Crate. Deeply passionate about great food and wine, he then passed the Court of Master Sommeliers certification exam and launched Insider Wine in 2023. Insider Wine's mission is to satisfy its customers' thirst for both fine wine and knowledge by sharing wines from under-valued wine regions and telling the stories of small-production winemakers.
